How will I be billed when upgrading my Subscription Plan?

As your RMM business grows, you may want to change your Atera Subscription Plan so you can offer the best possible service to your customers.

Atera gives you the flexibility to change subscription plan at any time, simply and easily. To enable this flexibility, we use a pro-rata calculation when you switch between plans.

How does Atera calculate my upgrade charge?
Simply put, we calculate the price gap between the new plan and old one, with a deduction for the time already spent on the current package.
So how much will I pay?

When upgrading you will be billed a 'spot charge', this is the difference between the cost of the upgraded plan and your current plan, for the remainder of the billing cycle.

At the beginning of the next billing cycle, you will be billed the full price for the new package.

Example

Let's take a look at a common upgrade path and see what the charges would be.

  • Pro Subscription Plan = $89 Per month
  • Growth Subscription Plan = $129 Per month

The price difference between the Pro Subscription Plan and the Growth Subscription Plan is $40 per month.

Let's say you decide to upgrade to the Growth Subscription Plan on the 15th of the month.

This means that you are paying for 15 days on the upgraded package, exactly half of the additional monthly cost: $20

You will be billed for the $20 gap.

Where do I upgrade?

1. From the left-hand panel click Admin > Subscription > Adjust Subscription

2. Click on the current plan name, select the new plan and number of Technicians, then click Update Subscription
