Help CenterA 'threshold profile' determines the alerts you receive about your customer’s devices. It can be customized by many parameters (memory usage, CPU load, etc), as well as by the alert types (information, warning, critical) you receive.
A basic default threshold profile (set with Atera presets) is automatically assigned to all newly installed agents. However, you can edit the threshold profile or create a new one.
This article describes how to:
Important Notes:
- After creating a new profile, you must assign it to your agents, folders, or customer(s) for it to take effect.
- Agents assigned to a specific customer will automatically receive the default threshold profile of that customer. By assigning a new threshold profile to a folder, you will override any profiles previously assigned at the customer level. By assigning a new threshold profile to an individual agent, you will override any profiles assigned at the folder and customer levels.
Assign a threshold profile to an agent
To assign a threshold profile to an individual agent:
1. From Devices (on the sidebar), select your device.
2. The Device page appears. Navigate to Threshold Profile on the right-hand side of the screen. Click Manage.
The Select Threshold Profiles window appears.
3. Select the desired threshold profile from the dropdown menu, then click Apply.
The threshold profile is now assigned to the agent.
Note: You can see which threshold profile is assigned to the agent under Threshold Profiles on the right-hand side of the page.
To assign a threshold profile to all agents/devices:
1. Navigate to Devices (on the side panel).
2. Check the Select All checkbox.
Note: To select all your devices, ensure no filters are enabled.
3. Click Assign Threshold Profile.
The Assign Threshold Profile window appears.
4. Select the threshold profile from the dropdown menu. Then click Apply.
The threshold profile is now assigned to all agents/devices.
Assign a threshold profile to a folder
To assign a threshold profile to a folder:
1. From Customers (on the sidebar), select your customer.
The Customer page appears.
2. Navigate to the Devices tab at the top of the Customer page.
3. Select the Folders tab and choose the folder you want to assign the threshold profile to from the dropdown menu.
Note: You cannot assign a specific threshold profile to the default 'Unassigned' folder.
4. The devices within the selected folder will appear. Click Actions and select Threshold Profile from the menu options.
The Select Threshold Profile window appears.
5. Select the threshold profile you would like to apply. Click Apply.
The threshold profile is now assigned to the devices in the selected folder.
Assign a threshold profile to a customer
To assign a threshold profile to a customer:
1. From Customers (on the sidebar), select your customer.
The Customer page appears.
2. Navigate to the Devices tab at the top of the page and ensure the All tab is selected so you can see all your devices and action icons.
3. Click the Assign Threshold Profile 
icon.
The Select Threshold Profile window appears.
4. Select the desired threshold profile from the dropdown menu, then click Apply.
The threshold profile is now assigned to all devices for the selected customer.
Remove a threshold profile
This section describes removing a threshold profile from an agent, multiple agents, and a customer.
To remove a threshold profile from an individual agent/device:
1. From Devices (on the sidebar), select your device.
2. The Device page appears. Navigate to Threshold Profile on the right-hand side of the screen. Click Manage.
The Select Threshold Profiles page appears.
3. Select 'None' from the dropdown menu. Then click Apply.
The threshold profile has now been removed from the device.
To remove a threshold profile from all agents/devices:
1. Navigate to Devices (on the sidebar).
2. Check the Select All checkbox.
Note: To select all your devices, ensure no filters are enabled.
3. Click Assign Threshold Profile.
The Assign Threshold Profile window appears.
4. Select 'None' from the dropdown menu. Then click Apply.
The threshold profile has now been removed from all agents/devices.
To remove a threshold profile from a customer:
1. From Customers (on the sidebar), select your customer.
The Customer page appears.
2. Navigate to the Devices tab at the top of the page and ensure the All tab is selected so you can see all your devices and action icons.
3. To remove the threshold profile at the customer level, across all devices, tick the All checkbox.
4. Click the Assign Threshold Profile icon.
The Select Threshold Profile window appears.
5. Select 'None' from the dropdown menu, then click Apply.
The threshold profile has now been removed from all devices for the selected customer.
