Create a New Contract - Remote Monitoring

This KB will show you how to create a new Remote Monitoring type contract in Atera.

Remote Monitoring Contract Definition:

This contract can be used when you want to charge based on the number of monitored customer devices multiplied by a selected rate.

Note: Atera can differentiate between Servers and PCs allowing you to charge a higher rate for servers if applicable.

Required fields:

  • Contract Type
  • Rate Per Device

To create a Remote Monitoring Contract follow the steps below:

1. From the left hand panel click Customers
2. Then select the required customer
The Customer page displays.
3. Click Create Contract
The Add Contract Page Displays
4. Enter the contract header details:
  • Select Customer (only if change from previously selected customer required)
  • Enter Contract Name
  • Select Start Date
  • Select End Date
    • Note: Atera will automatically calculate Todays date  + 3 years ahead
Optional to check:
  • Active (This must be selected to enable the contract)
  • Set this contract to Default contract (Select if you wish this contract to be the default contract type for this customer)
  • Set this contract as Taxable (Select if you need tax to automatically be added to the contract)
5. Select the Contract Type Remote Monitoring

6. Select the Count By

  • PC Agents
  • Server Agents
  • Other Devices
  • Agents Only (PCs and Servers)
  • All

Count By options:

Each contract will be for one of the categories chosen below. This means there will be a separate contracts created for:

    • PCs
    • Servers
    • Other Devices (Routers or a Switch etc)

For Example if you with to charge $40/month for every server, $9/month per PC and $5/month per Router you will create 3 different contracts, one for each.

Note: If you have not yet setup the rate type required you can do this now by clicking Add Rate
7. Select the Billing Period
8. Select the Rate per Device
Note: The rate per device changes in accordance with the number of devices monitored.
9. Select the SLA Plan
10. Enter any contract Notes as required
11. Click Save
