Microsoft Ends Support for Windows 7

Please be informed that as of January 14, 2020, Microsoft will be ending support for the Windows 7 Operating System. This means that technical support as well as software updates from Windows, that help protect these devices, will no longer be available. Please ensure all customers, still using Windows 7, immediately upgrade to newer devices (or to Windows 10 OS) per Microsoft recommendations, to ensure continued security and support.

 

Note: If you are upgrading the OS, please also see instructions for upgrading to Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.

 

To discover which of your customers are still on Windows 7, you can:

 

a) Use the Advanced filter, on the Devices page, to filter for Windows 7 devices.

b) Use Network Discovery ‘Opportunities’. Customers still using Windows 7 appear under Aging OS on workstations/servers

After upgrading your customer devices (or OS), you will need to install or reinstall the Atera agent on these devices. You can find them under the Newly added workstations/servers category and automatically install the agent on all devices, simultaneously, with one click.
