View Available and Installed Patches

Atera is 100% synched to the most accurate Windows patch repository. You can view all patches available for installation, as well as all installed patches on the Atera platform, or using PowerShell commands. The patch information displayed is identical on both mediums.

 

Viewing available patches with PowerShell

 

You can view all patches available for installation using PowerShell.

 

To view available patches:

 

Enter this PowerShell script into the command prompt:

 

Powershell.exe (then enter)

 

You can see the identical information on Atera.

 

 

To view all patches available for installation on Atera:

 

  1. Click on Devices (in the side panel).
  2. Click the Manage dropdown menu next to the appropriate customer and select Patch Management. The Patch Management screen appears.
  3. Select No, from the Installed dropdown menu. A list of all available patches appears.

 

 

 

Viewing installed patches with PowerShell

 

You can view all installed patches using PowerShell.

 

To view installed patches:

Enter this PowerShell script into the command prompt:

 

Powershell.exe (then enter)

 

 

You can view the identical information on Atera.

 

To view the installed patches on Atera:

 

  1. Click on Devices (in the side panel).
  2. Click the Manage dropdown menu next to the appropriate customer and select Patch Management. The Patch Management screen appears.
  3. Select Yes, from the Installed dropdown menu. A list of all installed patches appears.

 

 

Note: We are frequently asked why Atera is not synched up to ‘Windows Update History’ (on the PC). The reason is that it’s not an 100% accurate repository as it frequently lists duplicate patches, as in the example below.
