The Patch Search & Deploy report lets you generate reports based on Microsoft patch KBs and install missing patches on your devices, right from the report. KB is the term used to refer to Microsoft patches (e.g., KB3115858 is the patch code for Security Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems). You can search by some or all sites and KBs, KB description, class, and/or agent type.

The Patch Search & Deploy Report
This report shows the following information:
Summary
The first section of the report displays at-a-glance data on:
- All patches: The total number of patches in the selected reporting period.
- Installed: The total number of patches in the selected reporting period that have been successfully installed.
- Not Installed: The total number of machines in the searched network/s that does not have the patch you searched for.
Note: Select All patches, Installed, or Not installed to filter the data in the section below.
Patches
This section of the report displays installed and pending patches.
To install patches directly from the report:
You can install pending patches directly from the report.
1. Select the Agent Names(s) with a red X () in the Installed column, or click Select All.
2. Click Install.
If the agent(s) are online, the patches are immediately installed. If offline, the patches will be installed once the agent status changes to 'Online'.
Generate a Patch Search & Deploy report
To run the Patch Search & Deploy report:
1. From Reports, click Patch Search & Deploy.
The Patch Search & Deploy page appears.
2. Select the report parameters:
- Site Name(s)
- Filter By: All (all KBs), KB (specific KBs), Description, or Class. What you select here will update the field below.
- All / Patch KB / Description / Patch Class:
- All: This will return all Kbs.
- Patch KB: Enter the KB code or a partial code (e.g., entering 12 will return all patches that have '12' in the code string).
- Description: Enter a full or partial description of the KB (e.g., Windows 8.1).
- Patch Class: Displays a list of update types (e.g., critical updates, security updates etc.).
- Agent Type: All, Desktop, Server, or Mac
Note: If you'd like to exclude devices that are no longer in use, check Exclude retired devices. To define a retired device, go to Admin > Settings > Devices. Learn more
3. Click Generate. The Patch Search and Deploy report displays (see What is in the Patch Search & Deploy report).
To export the Patch Search & Deploy report to Excel or PDF:
Click the Export dropdown, in the upper-right corner of the report, and select Excel or PDF.
Schedule a Patch Search & Deploy report
To schedule the Patch Search & Deploy report:
1. From Reports, on the side panel, click Patch Search & Deploy .
The Patch Search & Deploy page appears.
2. Click the Schedule Report tab.
3. Fill in the parameters:
- Site Name(s)
- Filter By: All (all KBs), KB (specific KBs), Description, or Class
Note: What you select here will update the field below. - All / Patch KB / Description / Patch Class:
- All: This will return all Kbs.
- Patch KB: Enter the KB code or a partial code (e.g., entering 12 will return all patches that have '12' in the code string).

4. Click Schedule. The Add Report Schedule window appears.
5. Fill out the schedule:
- Give the scheduled report a clear, concise description.
- Select the Technicians Name(s).
- You can schedule weekly and/or monthly reports.
- For Weekly, select the day, hour and frequency.
- For Monthly, select the date and hour.
- Click Apply. The schedules appear in the Add Report Schedule window.
6. Click Apply.
Done! The scheduled report appears in the Schedule Report tab.
To edit the Patch Search & Deploy report schedule:
The scheduled report can be edited. You can edit the Configuration (Description, Technician Name(s), and schedule) as well as the Filters (site name, filtering, agent type, and whether or not to exclude retired devices).
