    Pause Alerts (IT Departments)

    Atera gives you the tools to remotely monitor your site networks in real time, ensuring devices stay healthy and sites stay happy. Alerts allow you to stay on top of potential problems and handle them before your sites are even aware!

    You can pause monitoring and alerts for a specified amount of time, for the purposes of taking a device offline for scheduled or routine maintenance. This enables you to perform the needed work without being disturbed by a flood of alerts. Additionally, you can resume alerts at any time, in case the maintenance is completed earlier than expected.

    This article describes how to:

    Note: When pausing alerts on an agent device that monitors non-agent devices (e.g., SNMP), the alerts on the monitored, non-agent devices will be paused as well.

     

    To pause alerts for a device:

    1. From Devices (on the sidebar), select your device.

    The Agent console appears.

    2. In the Alerts section, on the right-hand side, click Pause alerts.
    Note: You can also pause alerting from the Manage dropdown menu (in the Agent Console).

    The Pause Alerts window appears.

    3. Select the length of time to pause alerting from the dropdown menu, then click Pause.

    Alerting is paused for the specified amount of time and will automatically resume after this period. You can see which devices have their alerts paused on the Devices page as well as in the AgentConsole.

    Note: When alerts are paused on an agent device that monitors non-agent devices (e.g., HTTP), the alerts on the monitored, non-agent devices will be paused as well, and the devices will display an 'Unavailable' indication.

    Alerting can be resumed at any time.

     

    To resume alerts for a device:

    1. From Devices (on the sidebar), select your device.

    The Agent console appears.

    2. In the Alerts section, on the right-hand side, click Resume alerts.
    Note: You can also resume alerting from the Manage dropdown menu (in the Agent Console).
