Connect IT Autopilot with Okta by creating an Okta API token and providing your Okta organization URL. With this in place, IT Autopilot can securely call Okta APIs on your behalf (for example, to look up users and groups as part of troubleshooting and automation flows).
Connect to Okta
You'll need to sign in to Okta as an administrator with permission to create API tokens (Org Admin or higher is recommended).
To configure your Okta account:
1. Log in to your Okta Admin Console
2. From the side navigation, go to Security > API.
3. From the Tokens tab, click Create token.
4. In the Create token window:
- Enter a descriptive name.
- (Optional) Configure the API calls must originate from setting, if your organization restricts calls to specific IP ranges.
5. Click Create token.
6. Copy the Token value.
Note: This is the only time Okta will display the full token, so store it securely. You’ll need this value when completing the integration in Atera.
7. From the Okta dashboard, locate your organization (org) URL:
- In the top-right corner, click your name / org selector.
- Copy the base URL shown for the org you’re configuring (e.g.,
https://trial-xxxxx.okta.com).
8. In Atera, go to AI Center > IdP integrations.
9. Click Okta. Then enter the following details:
- API token: Paste the token value you copied in step 6.
- Okta domain: Paste the org URL you copied in step 7.
10. Toggle Sync contacts to automatically import users from Okta into Atera and keep their details up to date (enabled by default).
11. Click Connect to finalize the integration.
Once configured, IT Autopilot can securely communicate with your Okta tenant to support identity-aware automations while respecting your existing Okta security policies.
