To keep your Atera subscription running smoothly and avoid any service interruptions, your PayPal payment method will need to be re-verified from time to time. As part of this, we’re moving PayPal billing to a simpler, unified subscription model. This is a small, one-time verification on your side to keep your Atera billing through PayPal active — no pricing changes, and no surprise charges.
Note: If your account is also affected by the 2026 Atera pricing alignment, see the Atera Subscription FAQ for dates and impact.
Why is this happening?
Many online services periodically ask you to confirm your payment method, and this update works the same way. We’re moving PayPal billing to a unified setup so subscriptions are easier to manage and more reliable, but it’s mostly a behind-the-scenes change — your plan, features, and prices stay exactly the same.
Who is included in this change?
This update applies to customers who currently pay for Atera by PayPal, regardless of plan or App Center usage. If you pay by credit card or another payment method, you don't need to do anything.
What you need to do
Update your PayPal payment details by clicking Update payment details in the banner.
It’s a quick, non-payment verification, and once it’s done, you’re all set.
What happens if I don’t update?
If you don’t complete the verification, your PayPal agreement with Atera may eventually stop working, which can lead to failed renewals and potential interruptions to your subscription. We recommend updating as soon as you can to avoid any disruptions.
Will I be charged?
No. This update does not charge you. It’s a verification step only, and your current pricing and billing cycle remain unchanged. Your regular payments will continue as usual when your subscription renews.
Does this affect App Center products?
If you use (or start using) App Center products and pay via PayPal, your Atera subscription and App Center charges will be consolidated under a single PayPal invoice. This doesn’t change what you pay — it just makes your billing clearer and easier to follow.
