You can pause monitoring and alerts for a specified amount of time, for the purposes of taking devices offline for scheduled or routine maintenance. This enables you to perform the needed work without being disturbed by a flood of alerts. Additionally, you can resume alerts at any time, in case the maintenance is completed earlier than expected. 'Snoozing' an alert pauses the notification of this alert, eliminates it from the Alerts Dashboard, and stops it from sending out emails for a specified period of time.
Pause alerts
When alerts are paused on an agent device that monitors non-agent devices (e.g., printers), the alerts on the monitored, non-agent devices will be paused as well, and the devices will display an 'Unavailable' indication.
Pause alerts for a single device
To pause alerts on a single device:
1. From Devices (on the sidebar), click the device to open it.
The Agent console appears.
2. In the Alert status section, click Pause alerts.

Snooze alerts
Snoozing an alert pauses its notifications, removes it from the Alerts dashboard, and stops alert emails for the period you choose. You can snooze any alert type, including Windows event log alerts.
How snooze works with new alerts
A snooze applies only to the alert instances you selected when you clicked Snooze. It does not suppress future alerts.
When a new alert is reported, Atera checks it against the existing alerts on the same device. Windows event log alerts are handled differently:
- Each occurrence of a Windows event creates a separate alert with its own alert ID.
- These alerts are not matched against alerts you already snoozed.
- If the same Event ID occurs again on the same device after you snooze, the new alert is created with the Open status. This is expected behavior.
Tip: To stop recurring alerts for a specific Windows event, add its Event ID under Events to Exclude in the threshold item. See Monitor Windows Events. Also make sure no other threshold item in the same profile alerts on that event, because an exclusion applies only to the item it’s added to. To silence all alerts on a device temporarily, for example during maintenance, use Pause alerts instead.
1. From Alerts (on the sidebar), check the box in the row of the alert(s) you want to snooze.
2. Click Snooze ().
The Snooze Alert window appears.
3. From the dropdown menu, select the duration you'd like to snooze the alert(s) for, and then click Snooze.
Enjoy the silence! The snoozed alerts will resume once the snooze timeframe expires — as long as the thresholds are still being breached.
