While performing a re-installation of the AteraAgent, you might receive an error: "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. This error code is 2753."
Cause
The error shows up as the registry key of an older version of AteraAgent is still present.
Note: Before deleting a registry key, please ensure to take a backup as deleting a registry key could cause inconsistencies on the machine. You can export a backup of the registry from File - Export - Enter File Name - Save (Save as .reg).
Delete registry key
1. Launch the windows registry on the local machine. Click Start, click Run and enter regedit, click OK.
2. Browse to the following path: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\
3. Search for the keywords 'AteraAgent'.
4. Right-click on the GUID and delete it.
Note: The GUID seen in the screenshot is different for every version of AteraAgent, therefore, make sure you search with the above-mentioned keyword.
5. Close the Registry Editor and reinstall the AteraAgent.
