Atera's Beta environment is where you can explore new features before they are released to the Production environment. It enables users to try out exciting new capabilities and provide valuable feedback to our product and development teams to help us fix issues and make the platform even better.
Note:
- Atera's Beta environment is a testing ground for new features and changes. While every effort is made to ensure the stability and functionality of the platform, unforeseen issues may arise as a result of ongoing development and testing. As with any Beta environment, users should exercise caution and be prepared to encounter unexpected issues. If you do encounter any issues, please report them to the development team so that they can be resolved as soon as possible
- While we strive to publish support articles as soon as possible, please be aware that full documentation may not yet exist for all new features in the Beta environment.
- You can switch back to the Production environment at any time by following these instructions
How it works
The Beta environment is a replica of the Production environment with additional features, fixes, and capabilities that will be added to Production in the near future. If you choose to be migrated to Atera's Beta environment, all of your data will be migrated as well and you will not lose any information.
Accessing the Beta environment
If you are interested in your account being migrated over to Atera's Beta environment, please contact us directly at support@atera.com
Once your account has been migrated to the Beta environment, you will be able to access it using the same login credentials as before.
How do I know if I'm in the Beta environment?
If you're unsure whether you're in the Beta environment or the Production environment, the easiest way to tell is by looking at the URL. The Beta environment is located at app2.atera.com, while the Production environment is located at app.atera.com.
If you're still not sure whether you're in the Beta environment or the Production environment, you can contact support or your customer success manager for help. They can help you verify which environment you're currently in and provide guidance on how to navigate and use the system or any new features.
Switching back to the Production environment
When you are ready to move back to the Production environment, it is important to take a few precautions to avoid losing any important data. Before switching back, make sure that you have documented any new setups or configurations for features that only exist in the Beta environment so that you can easily replicate them once the feature becomes publicly available in the Production environment.
To switch back to the Production environment simply contact support at support@atera.com or your customer success manager and request to be migrated back. Any configurations or work you did while in the Beta environment will be migrated back with you as long as the feature is also available in the Production environment. If you are unsure about whether a specific feature exists in Production, please contact support for assistance.
