A threshold profile determines the alerts you receive about your sites' devices. You can customize it by many parameters (memory usage, CPU load, etc.) and by alert severity (information, warning, critical). A default threshold profile (set with Atera presets) is automatically assigned to all newly installed agents. You can edit the threshold profile or create a new one. After creating a new profile, assign it to sites, folders, or agents for it to take effect.
Note: When you create a new site, or remove a threshold profile from an existing site, the Default Profile is automatically assigned at the site level.
Before you begin
- Managing threshold profiles on the Threshold profiles page requires the Manage thresholds permission. Admins have it by default.
- Assigning a profile from the Site page, the Devices page, or the Agent console requires the Edit devices permission.
- A device follows only one threshold profile: the most specific one. An agent-level profile overrides a folder-level profile, which overrides a site-level profile.
Assign via the Threshold profiles page
1. From Admin (on the sidebar), go to Monitoring and automation > Thresholds.
The Threshold profiles page appears.
2. Do one of the following:
- In the profile's row, open the menu and click Assign profile.
- Open the profile and go to Settings > Assignment > Manage assignment.
The Profile assignment for '[profile name]' window appears, with the Sites, Folders, Agents, and Groups tabs.
You can view the current assignments for sites, folders, and agents, and assign the profile to sites and folders.
Assign to sites
A threshold profile assigned to a site is applied to all folders and agents of that site that don't have their own profile.
1. On the Sites tab, select the site from the dropdown list.
2. Click Add. Then click Save.
The window closes and the profile is assigned to the site.
Assign to folders
A profile assigned to a folder is applied to all agents in that folder that don't have their own profile. It overrides the site-level profile and replaces any profile previously assigned to the folder.
1. Select the Folders tab.
2. Select the site from the dropdown list.
3. Select the folder(s) from the dropdown list.
4. Click Add. Then click Save.
The window closes and the profile is assigned to the folder(s).
View agent assignments
The Agents tab lists the agents that were assigned the profile directly.
To assign a profile to agents, use the Site page, the Devices page, or the Agent console.
Assign via the Site page
From the Site page, you can assign a threshold profile to the site, to a folder, or to selected agents.

- Assign to site: applies the profile to all folders and agents of the site that don't have their own profile.
- Assign to folder: applies the profile to all agents in the folder that don't have their own profile. It overrides the site-level profile. You can't assign a threshold profile to the default Unassigned folder.
- Assign to selected agents: applies the profile to the devices you selected. It overrides the folder and site profiles. Select the devices before clicking Assign threshold profile.
The Assign threshold profile window appears.
4. Select the profile from the dropdown list (for Assign to folder, select the folder first). Then click Assign.
The profile is assigned.
Assign via the Devices page

1. From Devices (on the sidebar), select the device (agent).
The Agent console appears.
2. In the Profiles section, click the edit icon next to Threshold profile.

Remove a profile assignment
Notes:
- Removing a threshold profile from a site assigns the Default Profile to that site.
- Removing a threshold profile from a folder makes the folder follow the site's profile.
- Removing a threshold profile from an agent makes the agent follow its folder or site profile.
- A site can't be removed from the Default Profile directly. To reassign the site, go to a different profile and assign the site there.
Remove a site assignment
