Availability monitoring alerts you when a device goes offline, helping you stay on top of disruptions.
Enable availability monitoring
By default, availability monitoring is enabled for servers and SNMP devices, but not for workstations and laptops. Each device must be configured individually, and alerts are only triggered when a device goes offline — not when it comes back online.
You can also enable email notifications for these alerts. For more info, see Set email address for receiving alerts
To enable availability monitoring:
1. From Devices (on the sidebar), select the device.
The Device page appears.
2. Within the Overview tab, under Device info, enable availability monitoring.
Note: For SNMP, HTTP, TCP, and generic devices, click Edit next to Availability monitoring to enable availability monitoring.
The device is now monitored for availability.
Note: The Availability Monitoring widget on the Atera Dashboard displays all monitored devices by type and indicates any that are offline. If a device goes offline, you'll receive an alert in the Notification center (menu bar) and on the Alerts page, and the Dashboard widget will reflect the updated status.
