Enable Intune for multiple agent installations, allowing for automatic deployment of agents on numerous devices within a domain environment. Additionally, ensure that any device logging into the domain without the agent already installed receives the necessary installation.

- If your devices already have an agent installed prior to configuring agent installation via Intune, you may encounter issues due to existing files from the previous installation. In such cases, a thorough cleanup of the device is required.

Configuring a Detection Rule in Intune
To prevent duplication of agents, it is essential to configure a detection rule within Intune. Below is an example of how to set up a detection rule for the Atera agent:

Install agent using Intune
The initial step involves downloading the installer to initiate the installation of the Atera agent through Intune.
Download agent installer
1. Access the Atera dashboard and click the Install agent button on the top-right corner.
2. Choose the Windows (.msi) option for the operating system version and proceed by clicking Next.
3. Choose the Customer to which you wish to assign the devices and continue by clicking Next.

4. The installer setup is now complete. Proceed to download the installer file.
Upload agent installer to Intune
In order to install the Atera agent on your devices, it is necessary to add the Atera agent installer to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center. This will enable the deployment of the agent on your devices.
1. Access the Microsoft Intune Admin Center and navigate to Apps > All Apps. Click on the +Add button.
2. On the Select app type section, click on the Select app type dropdown, and select Line-of-business app.
3. After selecting the Line-of-business app, click on the Select button to proceed.

5. On the App package file section, click on Select a file.
6. The file selection window will appear. Locate and select the AteraAgent installer file, then click on "Open".
7. In the App package file section, select the installer and confirm by clicking OK.

8. Enter Atera Inc. as the Publisher name and proceed by clicking on Next.
9. In the Assignments section, choose the specific groups, users, or devices for which you want to install the agent. Once you have made the selections, click on "Next" to proceed.
Important note: The assignment of the installer should be based on the customer selected during the creation of the installer. This ensures that the appropriate installer is assigned to the respective customer for seamless installation.

10. In the Review + create section, ensure that all the details are accurate. Once verified, click on Create to proceed.
Congratulations! The application has been successfully created, and the agent installation process will commence on your devices according to the selected assignment.
