A script or a software item doesn't automatically become available to Robin or AI Copilot just because it exists. Here's what actually controls exposure for each.
Scripts: the exposure setting
There is one setting, and it applies to both assistants together. When you create or upload a script (Admin > Monitoring and automation > Scripts), there's a step to Enable the script for your AI assistants (see Create, upload, and generate scripts). Turning this on makes the script available to both Robin and AI Copilot - there's no separate control to expose a script to only one of them.
If the toggle is off, neither assistant can run the script - Robin won't offer it as a self-service action, and AI Copilot won't be able to run it from a device, ticket, or alert context.
Software: the exposure setting
Unlike scripts, there is no shared toggle for software. Robin and AI Copilot reach installable software through two different mechanisms:
- Robin (end-user self-service): controlled by the Software tab under AI Center > Settings. Whatever software you add there becomes available to end users via the Service Portal > My applications tab, or by asking Robin directly in chat (see AI Center: Settings). This is an approved list - if software isn't added here, end users and Robin can't install it through self-service.
- AI Copilot (technician-facing): technicians install and update software directly through the standard software installation flow (WinGet, Chocolatey, Homebrew, or your private repository - see Software installation), the same way they would without AI Copilot involved. There's no separate "approved for Copilot" list - a technician's existing install permissions are what govern this, not an AI-specific setting.
Quick reference
| Item type | Robin | AI Copilot | Where it's configured |
|---|---|---|---|
| Script | Available if "Enable for AI assistants" is on | Available if "Enable for AI assistants" is on (same toggle) | Scripts page, per script |
| Software | Available only if added to the approved list | Not gated by the approved list - governed by the technician's own install permissions | AI Center > Settings > Software (Robin only); ordinary software installation for Copilot |
