For macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and later, setting up Splashtop Streamer on your end-user devices may require a few extra steps.
Enable Splashtop Streamer permissions
When you install the Splashtop Streamer (when setting Splashtop as your default remote access tool or when initiating a first remote connection to the end-user device), a guide may appear to help the end user enable the necessary settings. If the guide does not appear, especially in cases where the OS has been upgraded and the Streamer was already installed, users may need to manually adjust their settings to ensure proper functionality.
Note:
- These security settings cannot be configured remotely — they need to be set locally before you can establish a remote session.
- If these settings are already checked, uncheck and recheck them. This often resets the permissions if they weren't working before.
Accessibility: To control the remote device, enable remote control for Splashtop Streamer via System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
Full Disk Access: To access and transfer files and folders on the remote device, enable file transfer for Splashtop Streamer via System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access.
Screen & System Audio Recording: To establish a remote connection, enable screen and system audio recordings for Splashtop Streamer via System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording.
Microphone: To stream sound over a remote connection, enable the microphone for Splashtop Streamer via System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. If you're still having sound or microphone issues, see this Splashtop support article
