The Asset inventory page is a central location to manage your assets and linked monitored devices across all your sites.
The Asset inventory page is a central location to manage your assets and linked monitored devices across all your customers.
Monitored devices automatically appear as assets and can be managed directly from this page.
Note:
- If you previously created assets manually from a customer page before the Asset inventory page was available, those assets will appear as duplicates. You can review, edit, and delete any duplicate assets directly from the Asset inventory page.
- If you previously created assets manually from a site page before the Asset inventory page was available, those assets will appear as duplicates. You can review, edit, and delete any duplicate assets directly from the Asset inventory page.
- This page is being rolled out gradually and will be available to everyone soon.

Asset inventory page columns
The columns on the Asset inventory page display the default fields related to assets. The name, customer, contact, and folder asset fields of monitored assets are synced with their linked devices.
- Name: Displays the name of the asset.
- Asset type: Displays the asset's type.
- Status: Displays the inventory status of the asset (Purchased, In stock, In use, Retired, Damaged).
- Purchase date: Displays the date that the asset was purchased.
- Warranty expiration: Displays the assets' warranty expiration date. Dell asset warranty is automatically synced.
- Site: Displays the asset's site.
- Customer: Displays the asset's customer.
- Folder: Displays the asset's folder.
- Linked device: Displays the asset's linked device or linking state for monitored assets (unable to link (no serial number entered), pending (serial number entered but no matching device found yet), linked).
Add new asset
Add an asset manually or import assets in bulk.
Note:
- Once an asset is created, the asset type cannot be edited.
- To create asset types, see Custom assets
To add a new asset:
1. From the Asset inventory page, click New asset.
The asset page appears.
2. Enter the asset name and select an asset type.
3. Enter the serial number to automatically match the asset to an existing device with the same serial number. Once matched, the linked device will appear on the right, and the asset name will be updated to match the device name. The site name will also update automatically.

Note: Renaming either the linked device or the asset will automatically update the other.
4. Fill out the remaining fields (including any custom fields previously created). Then click Create.
The asset appears on the Asset inventory page.

Search assets
Search assets by asset name, asset type, folder, and user.
Search assets by asset name, asset type, folder, and contact.
Filter assets
Filter assets by:
- Asset type: Filter by asset type.
- Site: Filter by site.
- Customer: Filter by customer.
- Folder: Filter by folder.
- Status: Filter by status (In stock, Purchased, In use, Damaged, Retired, Loaned).
- User: Filter by user.
- Contact: Filter by contact.
- Purchase date: Filter by purchase date (Any date, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 3 months).
- Warranty expiration date: Filter by warranty expiration date.
- Serial number status: Filter by assets with or without a serial number.
Group assets
Group assets to view them by asset type, folder, status.

Bulk actions on assets
Select one or more assets to perform bulk actions including:
- Edit: Edit the status, purchase date, warranty expiration date, site, user, or folder of selected assets.
- Edit: Edit the status, purchase date, warranty expiration date, customer, contact, or folder of selected assets.
- Delete: Delete selected assets
Edit assets
To edit multiple assets:
1. Select the assets. Then click Edit.
The Edit assets window appears.
2. Make any required changes. Then click Save.
Note: To edit the user or folder, you'll first need to update the site.
Note: To edit the contact or folder, you'll first need to update the customer.
Delete assets
To delete multiple assets:
1. Select the assets. Then click Delete.
A confirmation window appears.
2. Click Delete.
