Add a threshold item
Threshold items let you define what should be monitored and when alerts should be triggered. You can add preset items for common events, create custom ones for specific needs, or use script-based items for advanced monitoring.

1. In the top-right of the Threshold Items section, click New item.
The Threshold item window appears.
2. Click the Preset, Custom, or Script-based tab.
- Preset: Select the event and severity.
- Custom: Enter a name (optional), choose the category and severity, add any additional inputs, and attach up to 3 auto-healing scripts if needed.
- Script-based: Enter the alert title, select a monitoring script, choose the alert severity, threshold value type (number or text), operator, value, time period, and attach up to 3 auto-healing scripts if needed.
Note:
- The Preset tab lets you add alerts for common events, such as software installation, uninstallation, or failed login attempts.
- Some software programs won't generate any records when installed/uninstalled under Windows logs > Application (which is where Atera monitors these types of events). This means no alerts will be raised for those specific applications.
