This article will outline the differences between Splashtop and Anydesk. They are the remote tools that come with the Atera subscription and do not require you to purchase them from Splashtop or Anydesk directly.
AnyDesk
AnyDesk provides secure and reliable remote access for supporting your end users anywhere, anytime. AnyDesk can be used on Windows or Mac OS devices to connect to all your end-user Windows and Mac devices.
AnyDesk is available for the IT Department Expert, Master, and Enterprise plans.
AnyDesk is available for the MSP Growth, Power, and Superpower plans.
By default, Anydesk is set to Unattended access, meaning you can remote in without the end user having to approve. You can always set it as attended
Note: Servers will always have unattended access.
AnyDesk highlights:
- Initiate unlimited concurrent sessions — remote into as many devices as you want, without any restrictions!
- Have up to three technicians remote into a device at any given time.
- Open multiple windows in order to monitor multiple screens belonging to the same end user. This means you won't need to toggle between the end user's screens!
Other built-in AnyDesk features:
- Screen recording and capture
- Chat feature
- The ability to transfer files from one device to another
- Whiteboard
- Keyboard and mouse control
Splashtop
Our Splashtop integration enables you to provide instant remote support for your customers anywhere, anytime. Securely connect to remote computers, access files, and applications, and troubleshoot problems without having to leave your desk.
Splashtop is available for all IT Department plans.
Note: Professional users can have up to two concurrent sessions. Expert, Master, and Enterprise plans have unlimited concurrent sessions — remote into as many devices as you want!

Some built-in functions of Splashtop:
- Chat feature
- The ability to transfer files from one device to another
- Keyboard and mouse control
Note:
- Only one person can remote into any given device at a time. If one of your end users is using Work from Home on the device, this is counted as a remote session. In such instances, a technician won't be able to connect to the device.
- Splashtop cannot view multiple screens at once but you can toggle between them.
Splashtop SOS
Splashtop SOS is one of two remote support tools that Atera offers through Splashtop. Splashtop SOS is used for attended remote support (end user is required to be at their computer), whereas the standard Splashtop remote support tool offers unattended remote support.
You can purchase Splashtop SOS by contacting Splashtop directly. Splashtop SOS can be used with Atera to remote into devices that DON’T have the Atera Agent.

Utilizing both Anydesk and Splashtop provides a comprehensive device management solution, enabling you to run concurrent sessions. This allows multiple technicians to work together on an issue or manage the device, providing increased efficiency and productivity.
